Context & objectives
To ease the exploitation of its industrial data, Colissimo launched the SIPEP project to automate the deployment of standard reports to its SSRS servers. The goal: simplify the generation of usable reports, ensure reliable deployment between test and production environments, and improve maintainability.
Approach & technologies
Steamulo designed and implemented a simple, controlled process based on Ansible and AWX:
- A dedicated Ansible project for automatic deployment of the SIPEP reports
- AWX task integration to manage and run deployments centrally
- Automated retrieval of report versions via Git tags
- Deployment to SSRS servers with configuration through user-defined variables
The process ensures consistency across environments and standardised deployments, with no direct manual intervention.
Results
The SIPEP reports are now organised and directly accessible via the SSRS server, ready to be used by end users to generate standardised analyses from the industrial data collected on the sorters — with a reliable, repeatable and maintainable deployment chain.
