The INPI and the business one-stop-shop

The INPI (French National Industrial Property Institute), a public body created in 1951, centralises French companies, trademarks, patents and designs & models.

The 2020 and 2021 decrees entrusted it with running a digital one-stop-shop enabling companies to complete all their lifecycle formalities online. This portal is intended to replace all existing systems (chambers of commerce, court registries, trade chambers, social bodies, tax services…). Steamulo was selected in July 2020 to support the INPI on this ambitious project, in line with the PACTE law on simplifying procedures.

A modular microservices architecture

The front-office is built in PHP / Symfony, with a ReactJS module at the heart of the search engine for dynamic filters, in Responsive Design and compliant with accessibility standards (RGAA). The back-office, in PHP / Symfony, relies on API Platform and a DTO (Data Transfer Object) layer to simplify rights management and model validation.

To make the application modular and scalable, it was split into services: authentication, archiving, payment, notification, logging, routing… The main challenge was coordinating all stakeholders and interacting with information systems using heterogeneous data-flow formats.

A central hub connected to the whole ecosystem

Since 1 January 2023, the one-stop-shop is the reference interface for business formalities. Four major journeys have been progressively opened: company creation, modification, cessation and annual accounts filing.

Organised in feature teams (KANBAN, PI Planning) and supported by a dedicated application-maintenance team, the teams maintain a platform in constant interaction, via standardised flows, with the bodies of the French economy: INSEE/SIRENE for registration, MSA, CMA, court registries and DINR for validation, DGFIP, URSSAF, CCI and BODACC for receiving formalities.
