Context
The Agence du Service Civique operates a platform enabling organisations to publish mission opportunities and prospective volunteers to apply.
Following the go-live of the latest version of the site, the number of mission applications dropped by half. The ASC therefore called on Steamulo to help identify friction points in user journeys and implement an appropriate, rapid solution.
The analysis is based on evaluation criteria relating to current UX and ergonomics standards, focusing primarily on accessibility, speed, usability and content readability.
Objectives
The audit aimed to deliver a first-level global analysis of the site alongside improvement recommendations, then to define targeted intervention priorities for phase 2.
Two objectives were set for the two main user profiles:
- Volunteers: drive them to create an account and apply for missions (primary objective).
- Organisations: drive them to post missions and generate content.

Deliverables and post-audit actions
The expected deliverable was an audit report covering the controls checklist, diagnostic summary, detected issues with observed defects and recommendations. This report served as the basis to identify and prioritise site evolutions.
Steamulo was then commissioned for the recommendation and implementation phase:
- Tailored UX/UI recommendations based on identified issues
- Analysis of the existing key target journey on Desktop and Mobile
- Design of the new Desktop and Mobile journey with ASC team integration (mockups, prototyping, user workshops)
- Support during solution implementation (development, testing, acceptance)

What they say
Steamulo, a company we didn't know before, supported the Agence du Service Civique for three years on its maintenance contract and hosting of the Service Civique website. We discovered a dynamic IT company, with serious and skilled professionals, highly responsive, with a constructive mindset. The highlights of this fruitful collaboration were the reduction of our website's technical debt and the launch of our new site. Their consistent professionalism, flexibility in the face of challenges, and ability to continuously adapt to our changing needs greatly contributed to the ongoing improvement of our platform. We continued our collaboration under a new contract covering other websites of the Agency.
